This is a pork producer-centric program that offers funding and technical support for cover crops, reduced tillage, buffers, and livestock integration. National Pork Board is the lead organization, but it’s not limited to only pork producers.

Sign-up Process

You will work with an advisor from Ducks Unlimited, National Pork Board, or Eocene Environmental Group for guidance on signing up. Payments are made yearly with contracts renewable on an annual basis.

Pros and Cons

  • Great for pork producers since it is a program centered on helping them with stewarding their land
  • One of the few programs that provides fencing, lighting, and heat mats
  • Has a high acre cap for larger producers to be able to participate


Rates:

$40/acre annually ($50 for historically underserved)

Notes:

6000 acre cap, or authorization for more; requires a 3 species mix
