A national program with state participation. Today’s students are our future land stewards. Students in WHEP have a greater understanding of the value of land and how it can be managed to benefit many wildlife and fish species.
The program is intended to serve private woodland owners, public land managers, forestry consultants and service providers, and interested citizens of Iowa. Field days consist of 3 to 6 hours of outdoor classroom instruction on topics related to the improvement of woodland resources or the expansion of tree resources.
