SUMMARY:PFI: Measuring and Interpreting Soil Health Benefits
DESCRIPTION:Will Cannon and his wife\, Cassie\, farm 1\,000 acres of strip-till corn and no-till soybeans near Prairie City\, Iowa. They use cover crops on a large scale and have reduced their applied commercial fertilizer rates. They also run a custom application and farming business\, along with a trucking company. Recently\, they started applying compost extract to their fields to feed their soil microbiology. Soil health practices have been a part of the Cannon farm for over two decades. \n  \nThey are now working with Top Soil and Agronomy365 to do fertilizer efficiency testing. The information is helping them quantify the benefits of their soil health practices while making data-driven decisions going forward. Join Will and Cassie at this field day for a deep dive into soil health sampling and what results from these tests mean on-farm.
